Cookie Policy
This English version is provided for information. The Turkish version is the binding text and prevails in case of any discrepancy.
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on www.thebabiest.com, run by Zeynep Metin (The Babiest), in line with the KVKK and the Turkish Data Protection Authority’s Guide on Cookie Practices.
1. What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. The browser’s local storage (localStorage, sessionStorage) can likewise hold small preference records. In this policy we call all of them “cookies”.
- First-party cookies are set by the domain shown in your address bar (thebabiest.com).
- Third-party cookies are set by another domain (e.g. a payment institution or analytics provider).
- Session cookies are deleted when you close the browser; persistent cookies remain for the stated period.
2. Strictly Necessary and Functional Cookies
The cookies below are needed for the Site to work and to provide functions you explicitly request (cart, login, language choice). They are not used for marketing and are not shared with third parties, so they rely on the performance of a contract (KVKK Art. 5(2)(c)) and our legitimate interest (Art. 5(2)(f)) rather than consent. If you block them, functions such as the cart and login may not work.
| Name | Party | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| esid | First party | Keeps your session. Your cart, login status, form security (CSRF) token and on-screen messages are tied to it. Sent over secure connections only and not readable by scripts. | Session (deleted when the browser closes; expires on the server after 2 hours of inactivity) |
| esrm_customer | First party | If you tick “Remember me” when logging in, keeps you signed in after the browser closes. Holds a single-use token renewed on each use. Not set unless you tick the option. | 30 days |
| dil | First party | Remembers the language version (Turkish/English) you chose or visited, so we do not redirect you to another language again. | 180 days |
| rs | First party | Holds a random number so that the “Recommended” order of product lists stays the same while you browse. Set only for the list page’s path; it does not identify you. | 30 minutes |
| cerez_onay | First party (local storage) | Remembers that you closed the cookie notice so it does not reappear on every page. | Until you clear your browser data |
| promo_bar_off | First party (session storage) | Remembers, while the tab stays open, that you closed the promotion bar. | Deleted when the tab closes |
“esrm_admin” (remember-me for Site administrators, 30 days) and “__ulke” (country simulation during technical tests, 1 day) are not set in ordinary visitors’ browsers.
3. Third-Party Cookies During Payment
When you pay by card you are taken to the secure payment and 3D Secure pages of the payment institution (e.g. iyzico) or your card-issuing bank. These pages may use cookies on their own domains for transaction security. Those cookies are the responsibility of the institution concerned and subject to its cookie policy.
4. Analytics and Marketing Cookies
If analytics or marketing tools are enabled on the Site, their cookies run only with your explicit consent. They are not loaded unless you consent, and refusing does not stop you from using the Site. The main tools that may be used are:
| Name | Provider (party) | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_<id> | Google Analytics (third party) | Statistics on visits, traffic sources and page use | Up to 2 years |
| _fbp, fr | Meta Pixel (third party) | Ad measurement and interest-based advertising | Up to 3 months |
These providers’ servers are outside Türkiye. If you consent, your data may be transferred abroad; please consider the risks described in our Explicit Consent Statement. When such tools are enabled, this table will be updated with the full list of cookies used and the Site will offer a choice with equally prominent “Accept” and “Reject” options.
5. Links
The WhatsApp, Instagram and Etsy links are plain links; no embedded content or tracking code from these platforms runs on the Site. When you click a link, the platform’s cookie rules apply.
6. Managing Cookies
You can view, delete or block cookies in your browser settings; the help pages of the main browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) explain how under “cookies”. You can withdraw consent by clearing the Site’s data in your browser or through the cookie choices on the Site; withdrawal does not affect earlier processing.
7. Your Rights and Contact
You can exercise your rights under KVKK Article 11 regarding data processed through cookies as described in our Privacy Notice (KVKK). Questions: info@thebabiest.com.
