Privacy Policy

This English version is provided for information. The Turkish version is the binding text and prevails in case of any discrepancy, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

This policy explains in plain language how we collect, use and protect your information when you use the Site at www.thebabiest.com (and, during the transition, gigibabydesign.com). For legal details, legal grounds and your rights, our Privacy Notice (KVKK) applies.

1. Who We Are

The Site is run by The Babiest, a sole proprietorship owned by Zeynep Metin (Aydınlar Mah. Hürriyet Cad. No: 186/B Çankaya/Ankara, Türkiye; info@thebabiest.com; +90 532 230 23 32). We design baby textiles and embroider most of them with the name or monogram you choose.

2. What We Collect

Information you give us: name, email, phone, delivery and billing address, optional tax or Turkish ID number, order note and the name/monogram to be embroidered; information in review, stock-alert and newsletter forms; your messages.
Collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, cart and session data. From your IP address we only determine your country, using a local database on our server, to show you the right language, currency and shipping options.
From third parties: payment results and masked card details from the payment institution; shipment status from carriers.

3. How We Use It

to take your order, make your personalised item, ship it and keep you updated,
to manage your account, address book, favourites and return requests,
to issue invoices and meet our legal record-keeping duties,
to answer your questions and prepare a personal quote when you ask for one,
to keep the Site secure and working and prevent fraud,
only with your consent, to send you offers and new-product news.

We do not sell your information or share it with others for marketing without your consent.

4. Payment Security

Card payments are made with 3D Secure authentication on the secure systems of a licensed payment institution or bank. Your card number, expiry date and security code are not stored on the Site. Our transaction records may only contain the result and masked card details sent by the payment institution.

5. How We Protect Your Information

All traffic between the Site and your browser is encrypted with TLS (SSL).
Your password is not stored in plain text but as an irreversible hash (Argon2id).
Session cookies are set to be sent over secure connections only and are not accessible to scripts.
Access to the admin panel is restricted to authorised people and can be protected with two-step verification.
We share with service providers only the data their job requires.

No system is entirely risk-free. Please use a strong password you do not use elsewhere, and avoid “remember me” on shared devices. If you notice a security issue, please tell us straight away.

6. Cookies

The Site uses strictly necessary first-party cookies (session, cart, security, language choice). Analytics or marketing cookies run only if they are enabled and you consent. See our Cookie Policy for the list and durations.

7. Service Providers and International Transfers

To fulfil your order we work with a payment institution, shipping and logistics companies, an e-invoice provider, and hosting, email and SMS providers. Some of their servers are outside Türkiye, and for orders shipped abroad delivery details are passed to the carrier and customs authorities in the destination country. Recipient groups and transfer safeguards are set out in our Privacy Notice (KVKK).

8. Links to Other Sites

The Site links to our Etsy shop, our Instagram account and WhatsApp. When you follow these links, the platform’s own privacy rules apply; purchases on Etsy are subject to Etsy’s terms. Unless you click them, your information is not shared with these sites.

9. AI-Assisted Assistant

We may use an AI-assisted assistant to answer product and price questions received through messaging channels such as WhatsApp. Based on the current product and price information on the Site, it can prepare a personal quote link for you. The price in a quote is always the Site price; the assistant does not set prices or place orders on your behalf. We tell you when you are chatting with AI, and you can ask to talk to a member of our team at any time.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our products are for babies and children, but the Site is intended for adults and you must be 18 or over to order. Information about children is used only as far as you provide it (e.g. a name to embroider) and only to make the item.

11. Retention, Your Rights and Account Deletion

We keep information as long as the purpose and the law require. You can exercise your rights of access, correction, erasure and objection as explained in our Privacy Notice (KVKK). To close your account, email info@thebabiest.com from your registered address; order and invoice records that must be kept by law are deleted at the end of that period.

12. Visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and we offer goods to you there, the data protection law of that region (GDPR / UK GDPR) may also apply to the processing of your personal data. In that case you may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection through the contact details above, and you may lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country. The legal bases we rely on correspond to those listed in our Privacy Notice (contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests and, where stated, consent).
